A Powerful Prayer of Divine Protection and Deliverance
Inspired by Psalm 64:1–10 — A Prayer Against Secret Enemies, Evil Conspiracies, and the Wickedness of the Tongue
Heavenly Father, Most High God,
I come before Thy holy presence in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, my Lord, my Redeemer, and my Deliverer. Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer; preserve my life from the fear of the enemy. Incline Thine ear unto my supplications, for Thou alone art my refuge, my fortress, and the strength of my salvation.
Father, according to Thy Word in Psalm 64, hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked and from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity. Cover me beneath the shadow of Thy wings, and let no weapon formed against me prosper. Preserve me from those who secretly devise evil, whose hearts are filled with mischief, and whose tongues are sharpened like swords.
O Lord, arise and defend my cause!
Every evil word spoken against me in secret, every false accusation, every malicious conversation, and every tongue that has been sharpened to wound my spirit, let it be brought under the authority of Thy righteous judgment.
For Thy Word declares that the wicked bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words, that they may shoot in secret at the perfect. But Thou, O Lord, beholdest all things. Nothing is hidden from Thy sight, and no secret counsel escapes Thy understanding.
Father, where the enemy has prepared a snare for my feet, establish my steps in righteousness. Where evil has been devised against me, let Thy wisdom prevail. Where men have encouraged themselves in wickedness, let their counsel come to nothing.
Let every hidden work of darkness be exposed by Thy marvelous light.
Search the hearts and reins, O righteous God. Bring to light the things that are concealed in darkness, and make manifest the counsels of the heart. Let truth prevail over deception, righteousness over wickedness, and Thy divine purpose over every evil imagination.
Father, I will not be consumed by the fear of what men can do unto me. I will not allow the bitter words of others to steal the peace Thou hast given me. My confidence is not in the strength of my own hands, but in the power of Thy mighty arm.
Thou art the God who sees what is done in secret. Thou knowest the intentions of every heart, the conversations held behind closed doors, and the devices formed against those who trust in Thee.
O Lord, fight against those things that fight against Thy purpose for my life.
Let every arrow of bitterness, slander, deception, and falsehood fall powerless before Thy truth. Let the schemes of the wicked be overturned, not by my vengeance, but by Thy righteous judgment.
For it is written:
Psalm 64:7–8 (KJV)
"But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded. So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away."
Father, I place every injustice, every hidden conspiracy, and every evil accusation into Thy hands. I refuse to repay evil with evil, for vengeance belongeth unto Thee. Let those who devise wickedness be confronted by the truth, and grant repentance to those who will turn from their evil ways.
Preserve my heart from bitterness, my mouth from corrupt communication, and my spirit from the desire for revenge. Teach me to walk uprightly even when others walk deceitfully. Let me remain steadfast in holiness, faithful in obedience, and unwavering in my trust in Thee.
Father, let Thy works be made known!
As Thou hast declared in Psalm 64:9, let all men fear and declare the work of God, for they shall wisely consider His doing.
May every trial become a testimony of Thy faithfulness. May every hidden attack become an occasion for Thy righteousness to be revealed. May those who witness Thy deliverance recognize that it was not by might, nor by power, but by Thy Spirit.
And when Thou hast brought me through the battle, let my heart not be lifted up in pride, but humbled in thanksgiving. Let my mouth declare Thy goodness, and let my soul rejoice in Thy salvation.
For Thy Word declares in Psalm 64:10 (KJV):
"The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory."
Therefore, Father, I choose to rejoice in Thee. I choose to trust in Thy divine protection. I choose to rest in the assurance that Thou art my shield, my defender, and my exceeding great reward.
Let Thy peace govern my heart, Thy wisdom direct my steps, Thy truth preserve my soul, and Thy presence surround me continually.
I declare that fear shall not rule over me, for Thou hast not given me the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
I shall not be moved by the secret counsel of the wicked, because my life is hidden with Christ in God.
I shall not be overcome by evil, but shall overcome evil with good.
And I shall not cease to trust in Thee, for Thou art faithful to preserve those who commit their ways unto Thee.
In the mighty, holy, and victorious name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, I pray. Amen and Amen.
The Spiritual Message of Psalm 64
Psalm 64 teaches us that the greatest danger is not always the enemy we can see, but sometimes the evil that is secretly devised against us. David understood that wickedness could be concealed within conversations, intentions, and carefully prepared schemes. Yet he also understood that nothing concealed from man is hidden from God.
The remarkable revelation of this Psalm is that the wicked prepare their arrows in secret, but God answers openly through His righteous judgment.
The Psalm begins with David crying out for preservation from the fear of the enemy, but it concludes with the righteous rejoicing in the Lord. This is the spiritual movement from fear to faith, from distress to confidence, and from the schemes of men to the sovereign authority of God.
The believer's victory is not found in discovering every enemy, but in trusting the God who sees every hidden thing.
